Consider the simple social network below with five blogs, labeled A,B,C,D,E. Weights have been arbitrarily assigned to each edge and the thresholds will all be equal to .5. Blue nodes signify a blog that has not posted yet, green means the blog posted on topic, and red signifies a repost. This example will try to predict the postings of blogs A and D.
First blog B posts. The sum of weights for both blogs A and D are below the threshold so no reposts occur.
Second, blog C posts. The sum of the weights for blog A is .6>.5 so blog A reposts. The sum of weights for blog D is still less then the threshold, so no repost occurs.
Blog A reposts.
Next blog E posts. The sum of the weights for blog D now exceed the threshold so blog D reposts.
Blog D reposts.
