Internet Capstone 2005
The course project for the Internet Capstron in Spring 2005 was to create a search engine for web-cams. In groups of three, students worked to create such a project and were allowed to use any open source software packages - specifically web-crawlers and indexers. This webpage details Camoogle++, our location based search-engine for webpages. It was extremely successful: during the final demo it had over 10,000 webcams in its index as well as an GoogleMaps based GUI. Of note was the system's ability to accurately determine a webcam's geographics location and save the history of posted images.
